  2. Only CAE's permanent employees and CAE joint venture employees who work full- or part-time are eligible.

  3. As a full-time student, am I eligible for the Dollars for your cause support program?
  4. Only CAE's permanent employees and CAE joint venture employees who work full- or part-time are eligible.

  5. I personally don't do any volunteering work, but my spouse is very involved. Are spouses and family members eligible?
  6. Only CAE's permanent employees and CAE joint venture employees who work full- or part-time are eligible for this program.

  7. I volunteer about 40 hours per year, can I still apply?
  8. Although all volunteering hours are important, this specific program is open to employees who volunteer more than 50 hours per year.

  9. I volunteer more than 50 hours each year in two different non-profit organizations. Can I submit an application for each?
  10. You can only apply once a year for one cause. If you decide to submit one application for each non-profit organization you volunteer with, the Vice President, Public Affairs and Global Communications will decide to which one the CA$250 will be donated.

  11. Why will there be only 150 employees who will be granted CA$250?
  12. A quota was determined for this program since a specific budget is allocated each year for donations and sponsorship programs.

  13. Why do the applications that are in line with our corporate charitable donation and sponsorship policy have priority over other applications?
  14. There are many important causes but to have an impact on some of them, it is important to focus on a few specific areas. CAE has decided to concentrate on education in science, technology and engineering; encouraging young people to pursue pilot careers; encouraging organizations that aim at improving safety (aviation or patient safety); supporting communities where we operate when they face a natural disaster; supporting organizations that help the military, their families and veterans; supporting local hospitals, especially when they value simulation-based training for healthcare professionals; health and welfare services.

We believe that organizations that are in line with such a policy should be prioritized to receive financial support from the company.

  15. What do you mean by "if less than 150 applications in line with our corporate charitable donation and sponsorship policy were received, a random draw will take place among all other applications received"?
  16. Each application that is in line with our main areas of focus and our corporate policy will be receiving CA$250 (up to 150 employees).

If we receive only 50 applications between April and November that are in line with CAE's policy, all "non-priority" applications will go into a draw and 100 employees will receive CA$250 for their causes. The draw will take place in November.

  17. What are CAE's main areas of focus in its charitable donation and sponsorship policy?
  18. The main areas of focus are:

    • Educational facilities, activities and programs dedicated to developing excellence or interest among young people in science, technology and engineering
    • Encouraging young people to pursue pilot careers, such as cadets (Civil Aviation)
    • Encouraging organizations aimed at improving safety of aviation and patient safety (Civil Aviation and Healthcare)
    • Supporting communities where we operate when they face a natural disaster (Security)
    • Supporting organizations that help the military, their families and veterans (Defense & Security)
    • Supporting local hospitals, especially when they value simulation-based training for healthcare professionals (Healthcare)
    • Health and welfare services (E.G. United Way)

  19. Can some applications receive more than CA$250?
  20. This program offers a fixed amount of CA$250.

  21. How long will it take for my organization to receive the donation?
  22. CAE's Vice President, Public Affairs and Global Communications will review all applications twice a year (April 30 and November 15). The donations will be made directly to the organization in May and December.

  23. How will I know if I have been selected or not?
  24. Once you apply, you will receive an email confirming we received your application. In May and November, you will receive another email confirming or not the donation to your organization.

  25. Who will review the application forms?
  26. Each application will be reviewed by the Vice President, Public Affairs and Global Communications.

  27. Why do I need to provide the banking information for the organization?
  28. For compliance reasons, we have to ensure that the money goes directly to the organization and not to an individual.

  29. What are the possible methods of payment?
  30. There are three possible methods of payment:

    • Online payment by credit card on the organization website
    • Void cheque from the organization
    • Banking information on the official letterhead from the organization

If none of those three options can be provided, the application will not be accepted.

  31. Can CAE make an electronic fund transfer to my organization?
  32. If the organization provides banking information on its official letterhead, we will make an electronic fund transfer.

  33. How will the payment be made?
  34. Depending on the method that was provided, CAE will make the donation by:

    • Credit card
    • Electronic fund transfer from the Void cheque or banking information on official letterhead (deposited directly in the organization bank account)

  35. Can I make the donation personally and submit a Concur claim afterwards?
  36. Unfortunately, for compliance and ethical reasons this is not an acceptable option. CAE must make a donation to an organization and not to an employee.

  37. Who should I talk to if I have more questions about the program?
  38. Please send an email to Demandes de don / Donation requests if you have any questions.
